Christmas gifts and christmas party

by jan
(cape town, south africa)

Hi There,

I would just like to know how to allocate christmas presents purchased for staff, as well as groceries purchased for the christmas party.

Many thanks for your help!

Allocate them in what manner? What are you hoping to achieve by allocating them?

Employee Gifts
by: Lake, Bookkeeping Essentials

I work in Canada ... and here I would code your employee gifts to an expense account called "Employee Gifts" and the Christmas party expenses to "Employee Events".

There are restrictions as to what is tax deductible regarding these types of expenses ... but I'm not sure what those would be in South Africa.

I hope this helps though. :0)
