Credit Card Payments in QuickBooks

by Linda
(Walnut,CA,U.S.A)

How do you enter your credit card payment? I have all the receipts attached to the statements and a report that has all the breakdown of the GL account they will be going into but don't know how enter it in quickbooks.

Jennifer replies:

When you pay the credit card, go to the Write Checks window. Fill out the top half of this screen as you would normally. Even if you don't use a paper check you can use this window.

Then in the lower half of the screen, SCROLL UP to locate the credit card account. Choose it, and save the transaction. This will lower the balances in both your checking account and the credit card account.

I hope this answers your question about credit card payments in QuickBooks. Thanks for writing.
